Dancing with the Green Fairy

News Brief:
Absinthe is legal again in the US. Yesterday, the Washington Post reported that Absinthe Trades Mystique for Mass Market. I've actually never tried Absinthe but I've always wanted to. Absinthe has been illegal in the US for over 80 years. And, I just haven't partied that hard in Europe!

Absinthe Robette 1898 by Privat Livemont

Did you like that Oscar Wilde quote the author included in his article? "After the first glass you see things as you wish they were." That's awesome. Wilde was known to be a heavy Absinthe drinker. He also wrote: "What difference is there between a glass of absinthe and a sunset?" All this Oscar Wilde talk has got me thinking about a number of quotes I've collected over several years of research and reading. These are not related to absinthe but are equally delicious:

"Success is a science. If you have the conditions, you get the results."

"The true perfection of man lies, not in what man has, but in what man is."

“Any place that we love becomes our world.”

"Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination".

"I can resist anything but temptation".
Lady Windermere's Fan, 1892, Act I

"There are many things that we would throw away if we were not afraid that others might pick them up".
The Picture of Dorian Gray, 1891
